I still haven’t got the snafu worked out with the mailing list provider. I might just break the rules and send them an email if I don’t hear anything in the next day or two. It’s starting to get to me, the fact that I offered two free books to those that wanted updates and took the time to subscribe. Hopefully everything will be sorted out soon and I can get those books to people!
On another note, Mr. Miracle is finished! I just finished the edit today, which was a lot less tedious than it has been with the other projects. I wanted to finish it before the scout campaign for Warriors finished, and I did it with about five days to spare. This time, I went at it a bit differently and edited the book as I went. I generally have two writing sessions, one in the morning until it gets too hot and bright outside (I work on my balcony) and in the evening when the sun goes down and I’ve had dinner. Previously, I would write and not look at what I wrote before and just handled everything when I finished, going over the entire book. It was a process and was somewhat discouraging, having all those mistakes waiting for me!
This time, I would start in the morning and pack it in when the sun decided to torture me. In the evening, I went over what I wrote in the morning, and edited it, then started writing again. The next morning, I would go over the evening’s pages and start over again. There are a lot of authors that do this, but I never have before in fear that I would lose momentum. However, this way, I was able to edit, and also had a running start with what I was going to write. It felt a little bit slower, because I wasn’t using all the time to write, but I think it saved time in the end and made a better book.
So here’s a brief synopsis that I’m working on:
Hugh Gallant has survived being hit by lightning, throwing himself off a skyscraper, and a divorce from a redheaded woman. He has also won the lottery three times.
Now, a window washer, a former rapper, a heating repair man, and a redheaded ex-wife all want their own miracle – and they’ll travel across the world to Thailand to get it.
I’m not sure when to expect the book, I think I might try something different with it rather than just throwing it into the self-publishing world. It only took me a day to read it and edit it, and I thought it was a very quick read and moved along briskly. But then again, I’m biased.
I may throw a chapter or two up here in the interim, but rest assured, Warriors is only four days away from finishing its Kindle Scout run, so we all have that to look forward to! I also think that’s a very quick and enjoyable read! Depending on if it gets accepted, and how long it will take them to decide to publish it or not, you should expect it very soon. I think you guys will really dig it.
Also, hopefully I’ll have that travel article I’ve been talking about up very soon, so look for that as well! Hopefully before I head off to Malaysia for a few days!
Still searching for a cool sign off handle,
